1. Information We Collect
Army Pocket Guide collects only the information necessary to provide its features:
- Location: Requested on-device to determine your current coordinates. Used for the coordinate converter and map features.
- Account information: If you use collaborative groups, we collect a display name and email address to identify you within your group.
- Group data: Saved points, grid references, and shared waypoints you create within a group are stored on our servers to enable real-time collaboration.
2. How We Use Your Information
Coordinate conversion (GR ↔ Latitude/Longitude) is performed entirely on your device — we do not log or store your conversion queries. Location data is only uploaded to our servers when you explicitly share your position with a group.
3. Collaborative Groups
When you join or create a group, your display name and shared location are visible to other members of that group in real time. You can leave a group at any time to stop sharing. Group data is stored securely via Supabase and is not shared with any third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
- Supabase: Stores group data and user accounts. Data is hosted in a secure cloud environment.
- PostHog: Anonymous analytics to understand how features are used. No personally identifiable information is tied to analytics events.
- Sentry: Error tracking to help us identify and fix crashes. Crash reports do not include your location or conversion queries.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated group data at any time from within the app. Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months.
